At the age of 17, Víctor Moroni entered the stainless steel industry under the mentorship of his godfather, Víctor Parra, whose experience and guidance played a key role in his early career. After working alongside him for 13 years, he made the challenging decision to establish his own business in 1996.
Driven by this vision, Víctor Moroni founded Sociedad Nacional de Metales (SONAM) together with his partners at the time. Over the years, the company he built from the ground up experienced significant growth and became one of Chile’s leading stainless steel importers, a position it continues to maintain today.
In 2020, driven by his visionary spirit and extensive experience in the industry, Víctor Moroni embraced a new challenge by acquiring full ownership of the company. This marked the beginning of a new era, transitioning from SONAM to the VÍCTOR MORONI brand, a recognized leader in stainless steel.
On August 25, 2024, our beloved founder unexpectedly passed away. Since then, the company’s future has been guided by the legacy entrusted to his eldest sons, Víctor Lucas Moroni and Sebastián Moroni, who continue to lead the Chilean market with more than 6,000 square meters of storage capacity and a portfolio of over 2,000 exclusive stainless steel products.
Today, the Víctor Moroni brand, known on social media as @liderenaceroinoxidable, represents the companies Sociedad Nacional de Metales (SONAM), Aceros Moroni, Inoxidables Moroni, and VLM Aceros, strengthening its position as one of Chile’s leading groups in the stainless steel industry.
